We are affiliated to the Quiet Garden Trust, which has members world-wide. The garden is available by arrangement and without charge to non-residents who wish to spend time in quiet prayer, meditation or relaxation. For further details please visit the Quiet Garden Trust Web-site www.quietgarden.co.uk

Individual use:
The garden is available for individual use throughout the year, unless previously booked for a group event. It is advisable to telephone in advance to avoid disappointment. There is no charge for the use of the Quiet Garden, but donations to support our work and that of the Quiet Garden Trust are welcomed.

Group Bookings: We welcome bookings from groups of people wishing to use the facilities for half-day or longer events.

What is a Quiet Garden? Quiet gardens come in all shapes and sizes, but all provide the opportunity to set aside time to rest and to pray. They are open to people of all faiths, or of none, although the primary vision of the Quiet Garden Trust is to support "opportunities for prayer, silence, reflection and the appreciation of beauty; for learning about Christian life and spirituality; and for experiencing creativity and healing in the context of God's Love".

Why a Quiet Garden in France? We moved to France to establish and run a chambres d'Hôtes ("B&B"). As committed Christians, we saw this enterprise as a ministry of hospitality. Having acquired a large garden, and being aware of the work of the Quiet Garden Trust we felt that we could extend this ministry by opening our own Quiet Garden. We affiliated to the Trust in August 2002, as the first site in France. It is our hope that the centre will serve the local community, the increasing number of British residents, and also visitors from the UK and elsewhere.

Who can use the Quiet Garden? The simple answer is - anyone! There are no restrictions based on religious belief (or lack of it); gardeners and non-gardeners are equally welcome; individuals and small groups can all be catered for.

The garden is available throughout the year, unless already 'booked'; it is advisable to telephone in advance to avoid possible disappointment. Visits may be as short as half an hour, or extend for several days. There is no charge for the use of the Quiet Garden, but donations to support our work and that of the Quiet Garden Trust are welcomed.

Facilities available. The Garden of 800 Square metres is still 'under development'; about half is a working vegetable garden the rest consists of a small formal herb garden, flower beds, grass & trees, with a corner specifically set aside as a 'quiet area'. However, the whole garden is available for visitors to enjoy.

Spaces are also being developed in the house and barn for use in inclement weather. There is a library of books on prayer, spirituality etc.,

Coffee, tea and soft drinks are always available for a nominal charge. Visitors are welcome to come and chat with us in our kitchen, or around the garden.

'Quiet days' and longer retreats can be arranged if required; please ask for details.
